AppMakr’s Big Release! New Features, Better Apps
AppMakr apps have gotten a makeover—with more powerful functionality, a sleeker design and deeper customization. We’ve released a ton of new features that not only allow users to create more robust apps, they improve the app-making experience.
Now users can choose between two different app styles for iOS apps: Classic Tab Navigation and Premium Scroll Menu. Each Premium Scroll Menu app comes with a host of new features. And with unlimited rebuilds, they can try out as many versions as they want! Check out our video for a quick demo of a few of our premium features, and read below for more details on how they can instantly transform any app.
More Branding Opportunities
Each Scroll Menu app comes with a main menu page which serves as a blank slate for further branding. Users can choose from Color, Image or Video Wallpaper to customize this page exactly to their liking. Because this wallpaper can be either static (image) or live (video), users are given a wide range to fit this page to their app’s style and demographic. Company app? Upload a picture of your logo. Fan app? Upload a clip of the artist, to be played on a loop.
A New Way to Navigate
The “Scroll” in our Premium Scroll Menu app refers to the brand new scrollbar navigation. Instead of switching between linear tabs in classic AppMakr apps, users can scroll through each tab with a rotating wheel. Tabs are represented by icons, which follow the user’s thumb or finger as they’re selected. Each tab also supports color icons, making it easier to blend the scrollbar into the app and menu wallpaper’s design.
Multiple Feeds in a Single Tab
For further control over their app’s layout, users can insert multiple sub-feeds into one tab. For apps with related feeds, or especially diverse apps that need categorization, certain tabs can now contain several RSS feeds—sort of like tabs within a tab. This gives app makers more opportunity to tailor the flow of content in their app to the app experience they envision for their users.
Easier Updates, Less Rebuilding
Published apps can now be updated on the fly with Live Updates—no rebuilding necessary. From their new dashboard, users can swap out existing feed URL’s in live apps for new ones to instantly update the app. All they have to do is choose the app, enter in new feeds and hit “Update App”. When their app users reopen the app from a closed state, the feeds will be automatically replaced. No further edits, no rebuilding the app, no waiting for the updates to be submitted to the market. Just a few clicks and everything’s set.
Content Layout Customization with HTML
With a little HTML know-how, users can insert a code snippet into their RSS feeds to render each entry’s layout to their taste. Feed customization has always been available via CSS or JavaScript. Now, users can also dictate the layout of their feed’s content and which information they want shown. We provide the entity ID’s we use in our own HTML to render each feed, so users can work with them to manipulate how their content is displayed.
Premium Features, along with in-app ad customization, are available with a monthly subscription. This is on top of all of the features available in our free (Classic) plan—which includes a few new features itself:
- A revamped Photo Album tab to better showcase those awesome pictures, with zoom, landscape view, ad support and a few other nifty updates.
- A brand new dashboard with less clutter and a more intuitive layout.
- Color-coded status buttons that alert users of each app’s progress, right from their dashboard. From green (your app’s good to go!) to red (your app is not complete or has errors) and in between, users will always know where their app stands.
