AppMakr’s Sublime HTML5 Integration

The AppMakr team dropped by our friends at Sprout and had a hack-a-thon. With no hackers!

Sprout specializes in web/mobile ads for major brands with expertise in HTML5. The HTML5-based site Sprout created was uploaded to AppMakr to make a slick-looking app tab that looks and behaves like a native iPhone app. We made a sample Volkswagen app based on a VW campaign Sprout had worked on.

Users can interact by viewing a 360 turn of the Volkswagen GTI, preview car colors instantly, tap on info pop-outs, the app can even a dial a local VW dealer to schedule a test drive, and just for fun we even threw in a HTML puzzle to play with. Check out the screenshots attached!

What would have taken weeks took less than an hour; planning took most of the time. Everything was WYSIWIG, drag and drop, then the app was installed on everyone’s phones using App Drop, without the need for syncing with iTunes or the AppStore.

We’re very excited at what app makers can do with AppMakr and HTML5.
