iTunes Connect Goes on Holiday Like the Rest of Us

That is, if you get a whole week off.

Listen up, iPhone devs: if you haven’t already been notified by Apple, please note that iTunes Connect will be shut down from December 22nd to December 29th for the holiday season.

That means:
  • Access to iTunes Connect will be disabled.
  • Any apps or app updates will not be delivered.
  • Releases scheduled to appear in the App Store for the first time during this period will be delayed.
  • Pricing changes made through the interval pricing system and scheduled to take effect during this period will not be reflected in the App Store—and the app itself will become unavailable for purchase.

It’s strongly recommended that you do not schedule your apps to go live during the shutdown, as their release will be delayed until after December 29th. It’s best that you schedule your apps to go live for the first week of December—at the latest. That way your app won’t get lost in the shuffle and risk being delayed anyway. Apple hasn’t released the announcement on their site yet, but you can see a copy of the email here.

Bottom line—don’t make, schedule, or count on anything to happen in regards to your iPhone apps for that week. And expect the time periods before and after to be pretty crazy as well. T’is the season for holiday chaos!

Just think of it as a sign that you should go ahead and book that week in Jamaica.
